Ok, let's talk film. Internet has been down for a couple of days, but that does not stop me. A small tragic event will no stop a professional blogger like myself. So the show will go on.
First off, Sam Raimi talks about his involvement in the upcoming Spider man 4. I was content with the last Spider man. When Spider man 3 ended I was happy that was the last film. Granted it was not a spectacular film. Yet, Sony pictures needs to keep its dead cow alive. As I said before Sony Pictures needs Spider man 4 way more that we as an audience needs Spider man 4.

So, no one is attached to Spider man 4. According to Raimi the only people that are attached are the execs. Raise your hand if you know where I am going with this. Ok.. put your hands down. Sony pictures is willing to recast its entire Spider man franchise. In order to keep this dead cow on life support. Raise your hand if you think this is absurd. Well at least it does not surprise anyone. The good news is in the long run Sony Pictures will end up rehiring everyone from the last movie. You ask "Will they be willing to do it?". Yes they will be willing to do it. The paycheck will be way too high for them to say "No". Plus they need to make up for the lack of quality in Spider man 3. Basically Sony Pictures is doing what Steven Soderberg did on Oceans 12. Basically remake it because it was not as good. Hence you have Oceans 13 and Spider man 4.
In other crazy news, Kevin Smith is being a naughty boy. He is going over the MPAA's heads. According to rottentomatoes.com he produced his own non-rated Internet trailer for his new film Zack and Miri. Here is a man that knows his core audience.
So the MPAA is right on for giving him a slap on the wrist, but at least somebody out there knows how to reach different types of audiences.

So what is up with the Zohan? In my humble opinion he saw Borat and was extremely jealous of Sacha Baron Cohen. How frustrating is it for a professional American comic like Sandler to make comedic films and then, have an English man like Cohen step in and be funnier than he is? He must have seen Borat and said to himself,"Oh... It is on!" Sandler must have also said,"No one is funnier than me doing a middle eastern impersonation". I am pretty sure the Zohan character came from Borat.

I'll have to be short winded today due to my Internet issues. But hopefully next week I'll be my old cyberself again. Until Monday, Lets talk Film!
